What can I say.. I have been a very bad blogger lately! I truly miss blogging and posting new looks. It has been so busy with having a 4 month old baby, and traveling out of the country, that I have neglected posting! Inshallah I will try my very best to keep up with this blog. I feel as if I have said that before, but have somehow got sidetracked! but inshallah I will try my very best , because I feel like I need this blog, it makes me happy<3 Here is a quick look for you!

Two Looks

Good Morning Girls! I woke up this morning a little inspired, so I am bringing you two adorable looks:) The first is with one of my favorite fall colors; a berry/wine color! This color is reminiscent of some of the beautiful fall foliage outside. This cardigan is great paired over a printed top, jeans , and boots. You can choose to belt it or not, but definitely add a statement necklace for more drama:)

The next look is very sparkly, but toned down a bit when paired with a black blazer, jeans and boots. I love how the boots toughen this look up a bit. You can really dress the top/dress up or down. This is a more casual take on it:)

Ahh the weekend is finally here. This has been a crazy, stressful and looonnggg week! I am so thankful for the weekend! Today I'm really excited because I officially booked my tickets to go to Dubai in December! I cannot wait for warmer weather, and lots of sunshine! This weekend I plan on catching up with blog posts..Any requests? Also spending lots of special time with my baby girl<3, maybe making some homemade chocolate chip cookies and experimenting with a recipe or two.... What are your weekend plans?

This shirt is very simple, but in a gorgeous color, and it really pops accented with a tan colored over-sized cardigan, paired with some jeans and tan boots. A printed scarf and bold jewelry really pull this outfit together. You could also pair it with some flats, if it isnt cool enough to wear boots yet.

Fall is finally here! My favorite season of the year! This fall I am in love with gem tones, and warm fall colors... I feel like blazers in colors like, mustard, gray and military greens go well with almost anything this fall, from maxi skirts to jeans. Tunics/dresses in bright pops of color are also perfect for this season . Flowy tops look great paired with jeans, or slim pants. I also love all the details on tops this fall, like sequins, beading or thin belts. Fall isn't the same without a good pair of riding boots, and some flats.

Hello lovely readers, please forgive my extended absence from blogging. It has been a very busy couple months for me! Alhamdulilah I gave birth 2 weeks ago to a lovely, healthy baby girl mashallah! She is truly the light of my eyes.. Becoming a mother is truly a gift from Allah, it has changed my life for the better and I really feel as if I am now complete alhamdulilah. Inshallah I will resume blogging now, I have really missed posting new outfits, and staying connected with you all!

Hello my lovely readers! First off I want to apologize for my long absence from blogging... I had an extremely busy semester, and being feeling so tired with my pregnancy:) A little update for you: I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and due in September inshallah! Me and my hubby are super excited and cant wait to be parents! When I found out the gender of the baby, I was so excited, because I cant wait to dress my baby girl:) Its going to be so fun inshallah! Inshallah the baby arrives healthy and safe:)

It is now almost summertime! and I'm so exciting to be blogging again! I have alot of great posts coming up inshallah! Its getting more difficult to dress my baby bump, but I'm trying to make it work, gaining weight is not fun, but it is worth it for the sake of the baby. This outfit is a summer favorite of mine, and I think I will be wearing variations of this look throughout the summer... The dress is a perfect dress worn maternity or not.. I love the coral color of the cardigan. One of my favorite accessories for summer is feather necklaces:) I love them! They instantly add a bohemian flair to any outfit. If you are looking for some, I have seen them at Forever 21, and H&M. What are your favorite accessories for summer?

Hey everyone! I know it's been a while since I have posted:-( I have been very busy with school and life in general! It seems like there are not enough hours in the day to do the things I want lol...I also have some very special news that I wanted to share ,that was one of the reasons I had not been posting....Me and my husband are expecting a baby!! We are really excited and happy alhamdulilah:-) it truly is an amazing blessing:-) we really can't wait until the baby gets here...so far Im 15 weeks pregnant!
What does this mean for hijabie?.... Along with my normal posts...expect some pregnancy style ones too...they will be apart of my hijabie mama series:-) who says you can't be a stylish expectant mother?!! Thanks for visiting my site everyone....I just wanted to make it clear that the looks I post on my blog are meant to be ideas, and you should know to adjust the look to your shape and body type, so it doesnt look tight, and looks modest enough for hijab.

Some of the models on my fan page have their hair showing,please be assured that these are not human models. I use a site to create outfits and the scarf options they have with the models all have their hair showing. It is very frustrating, but please know that your hair should be covered as well with hijab. I am sorry for that.

This is just meant to be an idea of what you could wear with hijab, sorry if I have misguided you in any way.

My intentions are to bring more girls into wearing hijab, and to love wearing hijab, and to feel comfortable in their own skin. I want to show girls that you can still be beautiful and modest in hijab. I hope everyone understands my intentions.

The last thing I am trying to do, is anything that is haram. Please understand that.

Its been so long since I have done a celeb style...turned hijabie. I love doing these, but haven't fell in love with many celebs recent looks lately, until now. I love how effortless MK and Ashley always look. They are always so put together, without looking like they tried. I love both of their boho chic looks here. The scarf around Mary Kate's waist is such a cool twist to the look. The purple cardigan, and white t, looks awesome with the bell bottom jeans.

Ashley's look is my fav! I love the oversize white tunic, brown belt and navy blazer! its so chic and a very easy look to replicate.

I wanted to share some awesome photographs that a friend of mine took for one of her final projects. Her name is Noor Al-Alami, she is an incredibly talented photographer mashallah, and her photographs are so original and natural. I love what she did with these photos, she displayed hijabi's as "real " , all of the pictures really defy all of the stereotypes commonly associated with hijab. She wasn't afraid to break out of the mold, and try something new, and show that hijabi's can do anything too! I love the models she used, and know some of these girls personally, all of them are amazing women mashallah! and each wear the hijab so beautifully.

Ahh its that time of year, when we can pull out the boots and wear them again! I love boots, and they really are a fall staple for me:) Here are some of my favorites!
This year , I'm really into distressed looking boots and cognac colored ones too! I prefer a longer ,smoother boot over a slouchy one, and everything is about the details this season.... Little buckles, zippers, and the way the leather looks. I prefer simple details over busy boots. I think if the boots have too much going on, it can sometimes make them appear cheap; instead small and simple details are more interesting, unique,and very chic:)

Also as you can see all of the boots I picked are flat, I don't know, I just don't think high heel boots look good with hijab. Plus I love flats and flat boots.

Sometimes I think its cute to throw on a skirt on top of jeans:) and I'm tired of feeling left out as a hijabie when I see all the cute skirts. But you have to make sure it is done tastefully and right. Here is a skirt that would look cute with hijab and jeans underneath.... a leather mini, not so much.

Hijabie Recipe...Vegetable Soup

As it gets cool outside, its the best time to cook up a pot of a warm, hearty and healthy soup! You can make a bunch and stick it in the fridge, so you can have it for lunch or dinner for a couple of days! This is a recipe that my mom gave me, its super easy, and so good!

{What you need}

2 Potatoes
1 Tomato
1 Carrot
2 Sticks of celery
1 Zucchini

or you could just buy frozen veggies

Olive Oil
Margarine or butter
Tomato Paste
Pesto
Chicken Stock Cubes( Preferably Maggie brand)
Salt
Pepper
Oregano
Cumin

Note:
An easy way to do this if you don't have much time, is to buy frozen vegetables! I buy the the pack that is meant for stew:) It should be in the frozen veggies section of your grocery store!

{Directions}

If you prefer fresh veggies, and have more time ,cut up the following in medium to small pieces...

-2 Potatoes
-1 Tomato
-1 Carrot
-1-2sticks of celery
-1 Zucchini

Note: You can add more or less of each vegetable depending on what you like

Fill a medium pot a little above half full of water and let boil

Add the veggies into the pot

Add 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil , 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, 1 teaspoon pesto,1 teaspoon of margarine

add 1 1/2 cube of Maggie chicken stock ( maggie is a brand found in most Middle Eastern groceries, you can substitute another brand)

Add spices....sprinkle oregano and cumin, 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper

Let the soup simmer for about 45-60 mins

Enjoy!

Today me and my hubby went to a Turkish Festival in DC:-) It was soo fun! They had music, ALOT of food, and a bazaar! I was so excited because the weather was in the 60's, so I finally got a chance to wear my boots! It was overcast and cool, very "fall like" weather... I wanted to be comfortable,and keep it simple, so this is similar to the outfit I wore today:) A grey-blue tunic, with black jeans and my taupe boots.. I also wore a cross-body bag, because I knew we would be walking around.. I paired it with a printed scarf, necklace and some bangles... This is a very easy outfit to replicate in your closet:)

If you want to transform your wardrobe, and are on a budget, I would reccomend buying accesories to update your look. It is important to put emphasis on accessories and not just the clothes, because they can really complete an outfit:) Bangles, necklaces, rings, and belts can help make a plain outfit more unique , and can instantly change your look.

One of the biggest trends for accessories right now are definitely , Statement Necklaces! These are bold necklaces that live up to their name and make a statement:) They look best when paired with something simple. I love the minimalist look. These harem pants, t shirt and cardigan are just that, with a little sparkle thrown in. Harem pants are either hit or miss. Hijabie Recipe..Chicken Shawerma

I love cooking, and I thought it would be fun to start sharing some recipes with you all! Im not saying im a topchef, but I really enjoy making new things:-) So hopefully once or twice a week, I will be sharing some recipes on here, in addition to my normal fashion posts!

Here is recipe for chicken shawermas! It is really yummy, and I made it with nan, so it tasted extra good! You can also substitute the chicken for lamb!

Chicken Shawerma with Garlic Mayo, and Green Mint Chutney

Ingredients:

3-4 Boneless Chicken Breasts
Chicken Shawerma Spices( can buy at any arabic store)
Green Pepper
Red Pepper
Yellow Pepper
Onion
Yogurt
Mayo
Sumac
Lemon Juice
Garlic
Chutney
Nan Bread
Toothpicks

Directions:

Preheat oven 350 degrees

In a large bowl, take the boneless chicken, cut it into small chunks and add 2-3 tablespoons chicken shawerma spices , 1 tablespoon yogurt, and 1/2 teaspoon sumac.

Marinate for about 10-15 mins.

Chop 1/2 Green Pepper, 1/2 Yellow Pepper, and 1/2 Yellow Pepper

1 Onions chopped into small pieces
1/2 Tomato chopped into chunks

Set veggies aside

Put 3-4 olive oil in a skillet, add the onions, tomato's and chicken and cook until chicken is half way cooked

Later add the peppers, and cook chicken thoroughly

For the Mayo:
Three tablespoons Mayo, 1 Teaspoon lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon crushed garlic, and a pinch of sumac, whip together in a small bowl

For the Chutney:

1 bunch fresh cilantro
1 1/2 cups fresh mint leaves
1 green chili pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 medium onion, cut into chunks
1 tablespoon tamarind juice or lemon juice
1/4 cup water, or as needed
In a food processor, combine the cilantro, mint leaves, chile pepper, salt, onion and tamarind juice. Process to a fine paste, adding enough water to achieve a thick sauce.

Make the sandwich with nan bread, butter the bread lightly, and add the chicken, add the mayo, and chutney

Makes about 7 Sandwiches

Keep together with 2 toothpicks, and place on a cooking sheet, cook in the oven for 5-10 mins:)
